IMI

Infrastructure Management and Integration

Network infrastructure, installed, tested and watched.

IMI builds the physical and logical layers of your network: cabling, grounding, switching, wireless and firewalls. We leave link testing equipment on site and monitor it on a monthly subscription, so problems get found before your staff report them.

Services

Everything between the wall plate and the firewall.

One company covers the work that usually gets split between an electrician, a cabling contractor and an IT provider.

Structured cabling and patching

Cat6 and Cat6A runs, fiber where it is needed, patch panels and patch cables cut to length. Both ends labeled and written into your documentation.

Grounding and bonding

Racks and cabinets bonded to a ground bar, surge protection at the right points, and shielded cable grounded correctly, following ANSI/TIA-607 practice.

Link testing and certification

Every run is tested and the results are saved as your baseline. When something changes later, we compare against what the link measured on day one.

Switching, wireless and firewalls

Design, installation and configuration of the equipment on top of the cabling, including VPN between sites. A senior engineer reviews every firewall, routing and VPN change.

Monitoring subscription

IMI-owned test and monitoring equipment is installed at your site and watched for a monthly fee. Response times depend on the plan you choose.

Upgrades and refresh

Planned replacement of aging switches, access points and cabling, scheduled ahead instead of handled in an outage.

On-site and remote support

Trained technicians go to your site for exactly the days the job needs. We book their travel and handle the expenses, so you do not need a local hire.

Hardware

We supply the parts that make a network last.

Hardware is ordered, installed and labeled as part of the job. Add more at any time, and under a 5-year agreement we plan it into the term.

Patch cables and jumpers

Copper patch cables in the lengths and colors you need, plus fiber jumpers. Color coding by VLAN or function on request.

Patch panels, jacks and wall plates

Terminated, tested and labeled to match the drawings.

Racks, cabinets and cable management

Open racks and wall-mount cabinets, vertical and horizontal managers, and strain relief.

Grounding and bonding materials

Ground bars, bonding conductors, clamps and surge protection, installed to the grounding plan for the room.

Power protection

UPS units and rack power strips sized to the equipment in the rack.

Labels and documentation

Port labels, cable IDs and an as-built record of what was installed and where.

Link testing equipment

Installed at your site under a monitoring plan and owned by IMI. We remove it when the plan ends.

Monthly subscription

Monitoring and support, billed monthly.

Pick the level of response you need. Every plan includes monitoring through the link testing equipment we install at your site. Monitoring-only subscriptions are also available.

How monitoring works

We compare what the network does today to what it measured on day one.

The monitoring unit stays on site and belongs to IMI. When a reading drifts out of range, it raises an alert and a ticket, and a technician with a senior engineer behind them takes it from there. The speed of that response is set by your plan.

5-year agreement

Plan the upgrades once, then stop reacting to failures.

Choose any subscription plan on a 5-year term. We schedule network upgrades and the hardware that goes with them into the agreement, so refreshes happen on a calendar you know about.

  • Scheduled network upgrades during the term, such as switching, wireless and firewall refreshes
  • More hardware as you grow: patch cables, patch panels, racks, grounding and bonding materials, power protection
  • A baseline from day one, so each upgrade is tested against how the network measured at install
  • Terms, upgrade scope and pricing written into your agreement, with no surprise project quotes

How it works

From first walkthrough to ongoing monitoring.

Step 1

Site assessment

We walk your site, record what is installed and photograph the closet and the cable paths.

Step 2

Proposal

A written scope and price, with plan options and a 1-year or 5-year term.

Step 3

Install and test

Cabling, grounding, patching and hardware go in. Every link is tested and the results are saved.

Step 4

Monitor and maintain

Our equipment watches the network, and upgrades happen on the schedule in your agreement.

Who works on your network

Trained technicians, with a senior engineer behind each job.

Placed for the days you need

Technicians are assigned to a specific task and site. You get skilled hands without adding permanent staff, and we arrange their travel, hotel and meals within an approved budget.

Defined limits on every job

Each assignment has a written scope. Technicians handle cabling, ports, wireless and documentation. Firewall, routing and VPN changes always go to a senior engineer.

A record when it is done

You receive documentation of what was found, what changed and what remains, on the same day the work is finished.

About IMI

Network infrastructure, built and kept by people who answer for it.

IMI, LLC (Infrastructure Management and Integration) is a Chicago, Illinois company that installs, tests and monitors business networks, from the patch cable to the firewall.

Why we started

The gap between the cabling and the IT.

Most businesses depend on their network but cannot justify a network team. The cabling comes from one contractor, the electrical grounding from another, and the switches and firewalls from an IT provider, so when something fails nobody owns the whole picture.

IMI was started by a small founding team to close that gap. We do the physical work, test it, document it, and then keep watching it, with one company accountable for the result.

We also wanted a better way to put skilled people to work. Trained engineers take on real assignments under a senior engineer, and each one earns a certificate of completion.

How we work

Three rules we do not bend.

Own the whole job

Cabling, patching, grounding, equipment and monitoring come from one team, so there is one number to call.

Supervision is not optional

Every assignment has a written scope and a senior engineer on call. Firewall, routing and VPN changes are always reviewed before they go live.

Write it down

Every link is tested and every job ends with a record of what was found, what changed and what remains.

The team

A small leadership team that does the work.

Arsalan and Inshirah founded IMI. Arsalan leads the company, Inshirah runs operations, and Ibrahim leads engineering delivery. In the early phase Arsalan and Ibrahim do the hands-on field work themselves, while Inshirah keeps the office running. Trained engineers join specific assignments as the company grows.

Technicians

Trained, supervised, certified

Trained engineers placed on specific assignments, working within their level, with a certificate of completion for each job.

Supervision

Who is allowed to change what.

Work is assigned by competency level, so a newer technician never makes a change that belongs to someone more senior.

Technician I

Fixes and supervised installs

Cable and port faults, patch cable replacement and labeling, end-device connectivity, documentation. Configuration changes go to a senior engineer.

Technician II

Independent on defined work

VLAN and port changes, access point configuration, patch panel termination and link testing, small-site installs from an approved design.

Senior engineer

Design and review

Architecture, firewall, routing and VPN, grounding and bonding sign-off, and escalations. Reviews critical changes before they go live.
